Alternate Pathways

    Is anyone else really impressed with the alternate pathways in the other four campaigns?

    I played through Dead Center last night and ended up getting slaughtered in the second crescendo event in Dead Center--the three story battle to deactivate the burglar alarm (which is still the best new panic event I've played)--and when I restarted, the crescendo began in a completely different way.

    The first time I had to open a fire door at the end of a huge hallway, and the second time I ended up inside of an empty shop and had to break the windows to get out.

    If that isn't completely awesome, I don't know what is.

    I love how the path you take through the mall is customized so well.

    i don't get the finale.
    why the horde comes if there is no noise or nothing attracting them? the elevator just opened -.-
    oh and yes, different paths are awesome.

    That Dead Center rolling crescendo event you speak of is sooooo amazing! a true struggle for survival as you climb three stories to cut the alarm, so fun. I also have experienced different game play as I continue to re play that campaign. I highly enjoy the different pathways one must take.

    from what is been sayed this game looks wikked i car't till friday for me and i hope to play with some of u guys beacuse ive been looking at this website for agers but i never made an accout so now i have HELLO EVEYONE!

    Speaking of alternate pathing, has anyone even noticed a change in the cemetary pathways in TP because I have not. It is still REALLY short if you ask me. That and the boardwalks of SF, no falling through and no changes. Maybe that is just me though...

    Bono 7 pie quacked el-mundo's box. With no orphanages left main street had to eat the temple. The soviets ate but I went in and shoved eninstein in their face who proceded to fat and eat the island HQ of WAR ELEPHANTS. I like my Birthday Hat!

    Yeah I was expecting to come crashing down to my doom when jumping up and down on the boards just waiting for one to crack so i could fall thru and be attacked. But it didn't happen and i was disappointed :(. I will continue trying to break said boards just to do it.
    The finale in dead center is easy. All that must be done is the simple throwing of gas tanks down several stories fill up the car until you only need about two or three more and move those right next to the car. everyone grabs a gas can and fills up the car. If your lucky you can avoid one of the two tanks all together!

    I have only had the one with the store, no fire alarm, atleast not yet. And yes I have noticed that many cool promises such as cemetary and boards that made the game seem fun and exciting is getting predictable fast.

    the cementery IS there. it changes randomly too.

    only 6 maps has them:

    the parish 1: sometimes the bar, is closed, and sometimes a fence may appear in an alley.

    the parish 3: the cementery changes randomly.

    The mall: the crescendo may change (alarmed door or alarmed glass) and the stairs on the crescendo change, besides the hall where the safe room is changes too, but nobody notices because nobody goes down there, since there is no items in that area to look for.

    Dark Carnival 4: a fence may appear (doesn't change a thing)

    Swamp Fever 2: a guy hanging on a tree may appear in different places each time you play (only in two places, doesn't change a thing, only gives you items)

    and i think i am missing one, i can't remember what it is. but i ahve to say, they did a lame job trying to upgrade the AI director. the direcotor 2.0 was something that was going to be in the game, and now is not there.

    great job valve (to bad they don't check this forums)

    Yeah its really nothing, there was even a mod some time ago where someone proved that you could have ranomlized maps in L4D1, it was simple with a room with 2 doors randomizes which is open.
